It feels really good to have managed to get away for a trip. Quite an unremarkable ride out.
It was Kanelbullens Dag (The Cinnamon Scroll's Day) in Sweden, so when I found a cinnamon scroll for sale at the Mylor General Store I had to get it. It was probably the most disappointing scroll I've ever had. Dense dough, and a strange cream cheese icing sprinkled with cinnamon. I bought a butter chicken pie for lunch, and a beef and red wine pie to have later for dinner. Both were excellent.
Throwing the Omnium over fences isn't an easy feat - even the little barriers in Kuitpo are a pain - but perfectly doable. It did mean that I got stuck - having to choose between a backtrack or to go up and down serious gradients. The original route that I'd created used SA Water land, which I wasn't able to ride through (even though it looked beautiful - two-wheel tracks through tall grass winding along a meadow).
Rocky Creek was busy, so I opted to keep going to the spot I'd found on the map the day before. I waited until the sun was starting to set before throwing up my tent.

I packed up the camp site pretty early - I didn't want to get caught sleeping in a national park.
One the ride back I avoided the plantation pines where I'd stitched myself up the day before.
It was absolutely glorious. I loved every minute of the ride back.
